Before I get going with this post, I’m going to go ahead and let you know that I do NOT sell essential oils and this post is not sponsored by anyone! Essential oils are a big business right now, but this post isn’t affiliated with any specific brand.
Now that that is out of the way, Hello there friends! I hope everyone has had a fantastic week so far. Over the weekend, I was filling up my oil diffuser and thought, “Man, this would be a great thing to write about!” I think a lot of the content on the internet about essential oils is produced by people who sell an essential oil product or are sponsored by a brand and I wanted to create content that was neither of those things! I actually stumbled into essential oils by accident!
Last Christmas, my mom gave me an oil diffuser and two different oil blends. At the time, we were in the middle of moving from Georgia to Tennessee so it wasn’t until a week or so after I got the diffuser that I actually used it. Diffusers, in general, are pretty easy to use. You fill a cartridge up with water, add a few drops of essential oils to the water, and turn it on to diffuse the oil into the air. I absolutely LOVED the way the oils made the air in my house smell and feel. I decided I needed to buy more oils and oil blends!
Once I started my job, I decided I needed to get a diffuser for my office. I work in a pretty stressful environment sometimes. People generally don’t want to be in my office and I knew that oils could help the negative environment. I picked up a diffuser and a few more oils and I use them in my office daily.
Now, I don’t know if I can back up any sort of medical claims regarding essential oils. A good friend of mine has used oils to help with her epilepsy and I know a lot of people have had success using it topically. For me, I use essential oils to create different environments either at work or in my home.
Now, let’s move on to some of my favorite blends and oils to diffuse!
My ALL TIME favorite blend is the Chill Pill blend by Aura Cacia. 9 times out of 10, this is what I’m diffusing. It’s a blend of a bunch of different oils including citrus, lavender, and patchouli and it smells AMAZING.
Another blend I love is the Stress Relief Blend from Healing Solutions. This one is also very calming and includes patchouli, ylang ylang, and blood orange oils, among others.
I think a staple blend is a health blend like the one I have called Health Shield, also from Healing Solutions. It is similar to Thieves from other brands. It only takes a little bit- too much in the diffuser may give you a headache, to be honest- but just a couple of drops has really helped our family recover from general bugs in the past.
A couple other oils I recommend keeping around are lemongrass, lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, and peppermint. Between those, there are a ton of amazing combinations! Lavender and eucalyptus is great for sleep and relaxations. Lemon, lemongrass, and peppermint smells amazing if you want a clean scent.
The best part- they really don’t have to be expensive. I get most of my essential oils and diffusers from Amazon! If you’re not quite sure where to start, there are a ton of different sets you can buy so you can have a few to choose from. I have really loved using essential oils in my daily life so hopefully this little quick guide was helpful for you!
